The Death of Business Coaching?
The last several years has seen a HUGE influx of so-called business coaches. They go on Facebook, provide a bunch of free (and not useful) information, build a false sense of accomplishment and get business owners to part with money. Most of these business owners have thrown away that money when they can least afford to do so.
With all the great marketing tools available, anyone can learn a couple tricks and say they are a business coach and can make your business money. What business owners need is a way to execute their visions, validate decisions and assumptions, and move the business forward. They do not need another way to start the day, another 3 minute mediation or a new way to get their mindset better.
THEY WANT RESULTS
There are plenty of qualified business coaches that can make a real difference for business owners. But business owners are skeptical as all they see are 25 year olds that have never actually run a real business telling you how they can make you 7 figure’s in 30 days.
The real business coaches are actually working and making a true impact for business owners. They are not creating 100’s of hours of free training, so they can get you into a mastermind group that you cant afford to be in.
Real coaches make a real difference. They solve real problems. They create real value.
Ask the hard questions.
Hiring a business coach is a GREAT decision. Getting the help to execute your visions is what every business owner should do. Just make sure to ask the questions that will make a difference. What is the coach’s philosophy on team management? Does the coach know more than just “I can get you leads”? Does the coach have real world experience in real organizations that have driven real results? Look beyond the countless Facebook ads promising huge results if you just watch a webinar. Nope, that is not how it is done.
As a business owner do you give away your service or product? Neither should a business coach. The good ones offer real value that has a price. It is a fair exchange. If your coach promises huge results for almost nothing, run, and go find a real coach.
OK, enough of the preaching. Lets get some work done…..
